Students experience the splendor of the Slovenian unique mix of Mediterranean and Alpine geography, meticulously built towns and cities, and amazing food and wine as they are exposed to the cultural wealth of its capital Ljubljana. World famous for the best wine in the world with the oldest grapevine, 400 years old, and cities that are functional and clean. Ljubljana won the European Green Capital Award for 2016.
The program organizes excursions in Ljubljana and to other renowned Slovenian cities. Students will be able to travel to neighbouring countries, in a range of 2 to 3 hours - Vienna, Venice, Pisa, Tuscany...

PLEASE NOTE: Selected students will live with Slovenian families for two weeks, for the remaining four weeks housing will be provided in Students dorms in Ljubljana.
Housing expenses as well as transportation to and from the internship and to and from classes in Ljubljana are the responsibility of the student. AmCham Slovenia will provide transportation to and from any field trips, visits, etc. that are deemed part of the program.
There may be additional funding available from the Department of State for some of the interns. If a student is eligible to receive a Pell Grant to fund their U.S. education AND will earn credit at their school for this internship, that applicant may be eligible for Gilman Scholarship to help cover the airfare, housing, and other costs of this program.
