At the meeting with Peter Pogačar, State Secretary, Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, Committee co-chairs Klavdija Erjavec of the law firm Avbreht, Zajc and Partners, Matic Vošnjak of Competo and Vida Dolenc Pogačnik of AmCham Slovenia presented the Committee’s priorities: flexibility of 21st-century education/skills and investment in training and employee development, intergenerational cooperation and legislation, including tax legislation, primarily with regard to financial compensation in cases of resignation.

AmCham Slovenia and The Future of Work and Education Committee are aware of the need to protect vulnerable groups of employees, and therefore they also support such legislative efforts. In parallel with this, we are discussing and advocating legislation which addresses future occupations, which will require a flexible labor market and legislation. It is important to have a comprehensive understanding of the needs, so we are also interested in pension reform, the needs of older people on the labor market, flexible forms of employment with regard to trends and new business models.
