AmCham Slovenia elected a new president at its Regular Annual General Assembly. Blaž Brodnjak, MSc, CEO of NLB, was appointed to a two-year term of office.

In his acceptance speech, Brodnjak, who was the only candidate for president of AmCham Slovenia and who received the majority of the votes of the members of AmCham Slovenia, said that Slovenia’s geostrategic position is exceptional and that it has exceptional individuals who achieve excellent results. “If we as a society have the ambition to be like Slovenia’s top athletes, we will continue to move forward,” said the CEO of NLB, who added that in business we are already achieving this. He said that now is the right time to create links between government and the business sector, to create links between business associations and to start talking about a vision and a strategy for the development of the economy and the country. “I call on everyone to initiate a dialogue, to find a shared middle path and to respect each other. Let’s put Slovenia in first place, let that be our common objective for a shared victory,” said Brodnjak. He added that he believes that it is extremely important to form a shared vision and perspective with young people and to promote knowledge so that young talents will want to remain in Slovenia or to return here if they go abroad. He sees the AmCham YOUng program as a platform for this and believes that it is an exceptionally important part of AmCham Slovenia’s work. When asked what he himself will bring to this business community of opportunities and optimism, the new president of AmCham Slovenia replied, “I bring myself, I bring energy and I bring healthy dose of common sense.”

Nevenka Črešnar Pergar (Director, NP Consulting) and Damjan Kralj (CEO, BTC) were elected as new members of the AmCham Slovenia Board of Governors. Barbara Domicelj (General Manager, Microsoft Slovenia), Tomaž Lanišek (Head of Development and Smart Community Sector, City of Kranj) and Matej Zavrl (CEO, Goodyear Dunlop Sava Tires) were re-elected to two-year terms as members of the Board of Governors.
